NOTING BARRETT:
Aaron Barrett takes the mound on Friday in his third career start for the Rebels. Against Liberty in the season opener, Barrett worked 5.0 innings and struck out seven while walking only one. He suffered the loss against #16 TCU last weekend, but has been effective as he has struck out 12 and walked only two in his time on the mound.

NOTING POMERANZ:
Sophomore Drew Pomeranz takes the mound for the second time this season and this week when he toes the rubber for Ole Miss on Saturday. Pomeranz worked 2.0 innings against the Arkansas State Red Wolves on Tuesday as he allowed one run on two hits in his time on the mound. He also struck out three and walked two.

OM - Phillip Irwin, Jr., RHP
NOTING IRWIN:
Phillip Irwin takes the mound against on Sunday in what will be his second weekend start in his career with the Rebels. Irwin drew the start against South Alabama at the Coca Cola Classic, working 5.0 innings and allowing no walks while striking out five. He only allowed two runs - one earned - in his time on the mound. He picked up the win in the midweek against Arkansas State on Tuesday with 4.0 innings of work and allowing only one run on four hits. He has not walked a batter this season.

REBELS VS. VERMONT:
Ole Miss has never faced Vermont on the diamond.

A LOOK AT VERMONT:
The Catamounts of Vermont have played only three games this season, dropping a weekend series a week ago at fellow Southeastern Conference foe Vanderbilt. The Catamounts fell 7-2, 14-3 and 14-1 to the Commodores. As a team, Vermont is hitting .170 and holds a team ERA of 10.12 through the first three games of the season. Friday night starter, Joe Serafin, holds a 4.60 ERA after allowing three earned runs on 10 hits with a walk and a strikeout at Vanderbilt.
