Shene, Snead Earn Preseason All-America Honors

4/17/2009 | Football

OXFORD, Miss. The 2009 preseason football awards have already begun as senior kicker Joshua Shene has been chosen as a Third Team honoree on the NationalChamps.net All-American list, while junior quarterback Jevan Snead has received Honorable Mention status.

Heisman voter Todd Helmick has also placed Snead on his preseason list of Heisman Candidates.

An Oklahoma City native, Shene is the SEC active career leader in field goals and was a first team conference pick in 2008. He topped the SEC in field goal and PAT percentage last year and ranked second in the SEC in scoring by kick.

A third team All-SEC selection in his debut season with the Rebels, Snead finished second in the SEC in TD passes and third in passing average and pass efficiency. He tossed multiple TD passes in nine games and threw for 200 or more yards six times, including a career-high 292 in the Cotton Bowl victory over Texas Tech.

This will be the 10h season NationalChamps.net has released an annual College Football Preview, complete with analysis, rankings, depth charts and unit grades. The NationalChamps.net TV Listings contain a week-by-week and game-by-game schedule breakdown, complete for every team with announced television times and channels.
