Women's Golf Maintains Position At SEC Championship

Senior Dori Carter shot another round of 73 and is tied for 11th at 146. Freshman Ashley Lance, who equaled her best round of the year yesterday with a 70, struggled to a second-round 78 and is tied for 19th. Junior Sara Grantham rebounded from a disappointing first round (80) to fire a 73 and move up in the standings to a tie for 34th. Freshman Haley Millsap shot 76, and sophomore Jillian Brodd carded a 75 to round out the Rebels. “We improved on our first day score and achieved several goals today as a team,” head coach Michele Drinkard said. “Competition only makes you stronger, and today’s round helped us learn how to compete and step up to the next level. “Tomorrow we will stick to our same plan, which is to play relaxed, be patient and let the outcome take care of itself.” Ole Miss will tee off the final round beginning at 7:50 a.m. CT.
