Rebels Conclude Day One Of Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. The Ole Miss track and field team captured three NCAA regional marks to highlight competition on day one of the Florida Relays Friday afternoon from James G. Pressly Stadium at Percy Beard Track.

 

Sophomore Lee Ellis Moore turned in a fourth place finish in the 400 meter hurdles and improved his NCAA regional time with a mark of 50.38.  In addition, his time was the second fastest mark in school history. 

 

In field events, freshman Caleb Lee placed third in the long jump with a distance of 23-06.25. 

 

On the women’s side, sophomore LaJada Baldwin posted an NCAA regional mark in the 400 meters following a time of 52.27.  It was also the second fastest time in the 400 meters in school history.   

 

Juliana Smith continued her stellar season in the hammer throw by recording an NCAA regional mark of 178-06.00 on her way to a second place finish. 

 

The second and final day of the Florida Relays is slated to begin Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. (CT) with the men’s javelin throw.
