LEXINGTON, Ky. Despite out hitting Kentucky 8-4, the Ole Miss Rebels dropped the series finale 7-5 to the Wildcats on Sunday at the Kentucky Softball Complex. The Rebels committed four errors in the game, which led to four unearned runs, and stranded eight runners.
Kentucky (24-13, 7-8 SEC) jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the fourth, highlighted by shortstop Molly Johnson's grand slam to left center and an RBI single from first baseman Sam Demartine. Ole Miss (17-20, 5-14 SEC) didn't help itself in the frame, as the Rebels committed two throwing errors and starting pitcher Becky hit three Wildcats and walked one batter.
