Boxx, Nijssen Set For NCAA Individual Action

COLLEGE STATION, Texas Two members of the 21st-ranked Ole Miss women’s tennis team are set to begin play in the NCAA Individual Championships Wednesday at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center.

 

Freshman Kristi Boxx, ranked No. 36 in the nation, begins action in singles Wednesday at 10 a.m. against Baylor’s Jelena Stanivuk. The Mississippi native earned All-SEC honors while playing No.1 singles and doubles for the Rebels, who ended the year in the NCAA second round.

Boxx will also team up with sophomore Karen Nijssen in the doubles championship which begins Thursday. The 16th-ranked duo will play Hilary Bartlett and Taylor Marable of Princeton.  Nijssen participated in the NCAA Doubles Championship last year, advancing to the second round.
