OXFORD, Miss. Ole Miss continues to be tabbed in the top 10 of the various media outlet’s national preseason rankings, including Athlon which has the Rebels at the No. 10 spot in its college football preview. The publication also honored three Rebels as All-Americas and five as All-SEC.

Ole Miss was among three SEC squads in the top 10 of the national ranking with Alabama at No. 6, and Florida at the top, picked ahead of No. 2 Oklahoma, No. 3 Texas and No. 4 USC.

Rebel senior defensive Greg Hardy and senior offensive lineman John Jerry have consistently been listed on preseason All-America squads and are honored on Athlon’s second and third teams, respectively. Senior Dexter McCluster received preseason All-America distinction for the first time in his career, making the third team as an all-purpose player.

Athlon’s preseason all-conference first team featured Jerry, Hardy and senior kicker Joshua Shene, while the second team had junior quarterback Jevan Snead and McCluster at wide receiver.
