NCAA Super Regional Game 1 Postgame Notes

Virginia
Virginia fell to 46-13-1 on the season with today's loss.
The Cavaliers dropped their all-time postseason record to 15-17. Today was their first ever game played in an NCAA Super Regional.
The Cavaliers dropped their NCAA record under head coach Brian O'Connor to 9-11.
UVa fell to 0-2 in extra inning games this season.
The Cavaliers had their eight-game winning streak snapped. The streak dated back to a May 16 win at in-state rival Virginia Tech.
Virginia pitching allowed four runs to the Rebels in the Super Regional opener. UVa had surrendered only two runs in the entire NCAA Tournament prior to today's game. The Ole Miss walk-off run marked the first time UVa has trailed this postseason.
Starting LHP Danny Hultzen allowed two runs in 5.1 innings pitched with a walk and five K's. He had allowed just one total run over his previous three outings.

Sophomore CF Jarrett Parker went 2-for-6 in the game and extended his season-high hitting streak to 13 games.

Ole Miss improved to 41-31 all-time in NCAA Tournament play.
The Rebels moved to 19-15 in NCAA Tournament games under head coach Mike Bianco.
Making its fourth Super Regional appearance in the last five years, Ole Miss improved to 3-6 all-time in Super Regional play.
Ole Miss is hosting a Super Regional for the third time (2005, 2006). In both of those years, the Rebels also won the opening game of the Super Regional 6-4 over Texas in '05, 11-9 over Miami in '06.
The Rebels improved to 2-1 in extra inning games this season.
The Rebels improved to 18-1 this season when allowing opponents between 3-5 runs.
Junior OF Jordan Henry reached on a walk in the first inning and went 1-for-4 with a pair of stolen bases in the contest. He has now reached base safely in 58-of-61 games this season, and he increased his school-record stolen base total to 37 for the year.
Senior OF Logan Power extended his school-record career RBI total to 178 in clutch fashion when he hit a game-tying single through the left side with one out in the bottom of the ninth to score Evan Button from second and tie the score at 3-3.

Both teams played the longest game of their season today. The Rebels had played a pair of 10-inning contests, while the Cavaliers had played one 10-inning game earlier this year.
Attendance Note
Today's attendance of 9,213 is the sixth-largest in the history of Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field and the largest-ever crowd for an NCAA Tournament game in Oxford.
