Rebel Netters Wrap Up Gator Classic

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Ole Miss women's tennis team went 4-4 on the final day of the Gator Classic at the Scott Linder Tennis Stadium Sunday, wrapping up another successful weekend.

On Sunday, the Rebels battled Florida in singles and came away with two wins. Junior Connor Vogel dowend 86th-ranked Joanna Mather 6-1, 6-4 to win her sixth consecutive match. It marks the second weekend in a row for her to go undefeated.

Sophomore Gabriela Rangel came back to beat Brittany Borsanyi 2-6, 6-4, 1-0(8) for her second win of the weekend.

In doubles, the Rebels played Central Florida and won both matches. Kristi Boxx and Karen Nijssen, ranked No. 9 in the nation, got on track in their first tournament together this year, dominating Jenna Doerfler and Alexis Rodriguez 6-0. Gabriela Rangel and Connor Vogel downed Taylor Dubins and Allison Hodges 6-2 in the other match.

Next up for the Rebels will be the ITA All-American Championships in Los Angeles, Calif.
