4:50 pm: Final score: Ole Miss 21, Oklahoma State 7. Stay at OleMissSports.com for complete postgame coverage.
4:44 pm: Trahan notches an interception on the next OSU drive to secure the Rebel victory. The gatorade baths have already begun.
4:34 pm: Playing in his third career Cotton Bowl, including 2007 as a freshman at Auburn, Patrick Trahan returns a 34-yard fumble recovery for his first career TD. Rebels jump ahead 21-7 with 3:12 left. Turnover total now up 10.
4:26 pm: Dex strikes for his second TD of the game on a two-yard run to put Ole Miss on top 14-7 with just over four minutes left. He is certainly making a case to defense his offensive MVP award.
4:22 pm: The turnover bowl continues as the Cowboys fumble to raise the combined total to nine. The Rebels take over in OSU territory.
4:14 pm: OSU moved down the field quickly on two running plays, but Kendrick Lewis came up big for the Rebels again picking off Zac Robinson in the endzone. Replay officials reviewed the play, but the call stood and gave Lewis his first career two-pick game.
4:07 pm: Joshua Shene pushes a 39-yard field goal attempt to the left. The score remains tied at seven.
4:02 pm: Kendrick Lewis picked off a Zac Robinson pass and returned it six yards to the Ole Miss 30. Shay Hodge then caught a pass on a crossing route and race for 33 yards to pass Chris Collins as the Ole Miss career leader in receiving yards.
3:51 pm: The Rebels move quickly with a 16-yard pass to Shay Hodge on first down from the OSU one and an eight-yard run form Dexter McCluster to move the ball out to the Cowboy 24.
3:46 pm: Fins up! After getting stop on forth-and-goal in the first quarter, DT Jerrell Powe leads a Rebel charge that bottles up RB Keith Toston at the one to force a turnover on downs.
3:44 pm: The Rebels come up with a big stop on third-and-goal, stopping RB Kieth Toston at the one-yard line. OSU takes a timeout to think about fourth down.
3:38 pm: Today's attendance is 77,928 at a sold-out Cowboys Stadium. It is the second largerst crowd in Cotton Bowl history, behind last year's record of 88,175.
3:37 pm: On second down, OSU QB Zac Robinson threw a crossing route to WR Josh Cooper. It was intially ruled a 37-yard TD catch, but upon review it was discover that Cooper stepped out at the Ole Miss 9-yard.
3:33 pm: After a first down, Jevan Snead and Bradon Bolden fumble a handoff and OSU recovers at the Ole Miss 40-yard line.
3:25 pm: On third-and-goal from the one, OSU lined up in a Wildcat formation and RB Keith Toston threw a jump pass to Hubert Anyiam to tie the score at seven.
3:21 pm: QB Nathan Stanley just threw in interception deep in Ole Miss territory, giving OSU the ball on the Reb 12-yard line.
3:19 pm: The Rebel "D" is continuing their stout play, as Ole Miss just forced the Cowboys into another three-and-out and has limited OSU to just 86 yards on 30 plays.
3:15 pm: Marshay Green returns the OSU punt 63 yards to the Cowboy 13-yard line. Howver, the Rebels can't capitalize as Joshua Shene's 41-yard field goal attempt bounced off the left upright.
3:09 pm: Andrew Ritter booms the opening kickoff of the second half into the endzone for a touchback and the Rebels force the Cowboys to go thrid-and-out.
2:42 pm: Trying to make play under 30 seconds left in the half, Snead tosses his third interception, but OSU is unable to do anything in the final ticks. Ole Miss leads at the half for the ninth time this year, going 7-1.
2:34 pm: Oklahoma State picks up its first two first downs of the game but the stiff Rebel defense still holds them to a punt. Snead has returned for the Ole Miss offense with just over two minutes left in the half.
2:25 pm: BTW, McCluster has already topped 100 rushing yards for the fifth time in the last seven games with 133 (161 all-purpose).
2:20 pm: Still no first downs for the Cowboys, as their first long completion was called back on penalty. Another punt and Ole Miss begins their next drive with Stanley still under center.
2:15 pm: OSU is still without a first down and just punted for the fourth time, and Ole Miss opened its next drive at the 14-yardline with Nathan Stanley at QB. All Stanley needed to do has hand it to 22, as McCluster darted for an 86-yard TD run. It marked the longest of his career and the longest by a Rebel since 1997, when John Avery rushed 97 yards against Arkansas. It is also the second-longest TD run in Cotton Bowl history. McCluster has notched six plays this year of over 50 yards (4 rushes, 2 receptions).
2:04 pm: Snead tosses his second pick of the game and pays the price, after a hard block during the return knocks his helmet off and leaves him laying on the turf for a few seconds. He was able to walk off the field and appears to be ok on the sideline. The Cowboys have the ball in Ole Miss territory.
1:58 pm: OSU punts for the third time on three drives. First quarter comes to a close and the Cowboys have zero first downs. Ole Miss opens the second quarter with a first down at the OSU 41 yardline. The last play of the quarter - a McCluster 12-yard catch - has made Dexter the first player in SEC history with 1,000 rushing yards and 500 receiving yards in the same season.
1:51 pm: Cowboys go 3-and-out again on their second drive, but the Rebels are unable to capitalize, as on first down, an OSU defender is able to reel a Snead pass on a diving interception at their own 19 yardline.
1:46 pm: Jerrell Powe has seen a handfull of snaps at fullback this season, and the big DT earned his first two career carries on the goalline of the Rebels' second drive but could not punch it in as Ole Miss turned the ball over on downs. On third down, Powe powered the ball to the 1-inch mark with a huge hit, and it looked as if the ball had gone across, but after further review, the officials marked it short. It marks the first time this season that the Rebels have turned the ball over on downs in the red zone.
1:36 pm: As Ole Miss' second drive forges into Cowboy territory, Dexter McCluster has become the fourth Rebel all-time to reach 1,000 rushing yards in a season.
1:30 pm: Both offenses off to slow starts, as OSU goes 3 and out on its first possession. Ole Miss has the ball on its own 17 yardline to open its second drive.
1:25 pm: A few Rebel milestones in sight today: Dex needs 15 rushing yards and 25 receving yards to become the first player in SEC history with 1,000 rushing and 500 receiving in the same season; Shay needs 87 receiving yards and two TD catches to tie for the Ole Miss career lead.
1:22 pm: After losing the toss, Ole Miss received the ball first but could only muster one first down before punting.
1:00 pm: We're 15 minutes from kickoff here at Jerry World, which is even more amazing than you might think. The Rebels were warming up earlier in their navy jerseys, but they have sinced returned to the lockerroom and given way to the pagentry of the Cotton Bowl. Currently performing is the famous Kilgore College Rangerettes, who are making their 60th straight Cotton Bowl appearance. The weather outside is sunny and 50 degrees, and it's a perfect 72 degrees here in Cowboys Stadium, which has the roof closed for today's game. Check out the game notes for some background on the matchup with OSU.
