Rebels Claim Two Titles At Razorback Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Ole Miss track and field team picked up two individual titles, six NCAA provisional marks and recorded one school record over the weekend at the Razorback Invitational from the Randal Tyson Track Center.

Junior sprinter LaJada Baldwin turned in a fifth place finish in the 200 meters with an NCAA provisional time of 23.82, which is also the third-fastest mark in school history. The St. Louis, Mo., native also took second place in the 60 meters with an NCAA provisional time of 7.38.

Sophomore Kristin Bridges placed fifth in the 60 meters with a time of 7.70, while freshman Lor'Rena De'Jurnett took eighth in the consolation round of the race with a mark of 7.75.

Middle distance runner Sofie Persson posted a second place finish in the 800 meters with an NCAA provisional mark of 2:06.14. Sophomore Logan Waites recorded a new school record in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:07.45 en route to a second place finish.

The 1600 meter relay team of Jasmine Dacus, Persson, Bridges and Baldwin turned in an NCAA provisional time of 3:39.12 on its way to a third place finish.

In field events, junior Rachel Jenkins finished in third place in the long jump with an NCAA provisional distance of 20-01.50, giving her the fifth-best leap in school history. Freshman Marci Morman place eighth in the event with her mark of 19-00.75.

Aria Gaines posted the third-best distance in school history with a mark of 40-07.75 on her way to a fourth place finish in the triple jump. Morman took sixth place with her mark of 39-05.25, while Jenkins was next in seventh place with a distance of 39-03.25.

Freshman Neal Tisher earned a seventh place finish in the pole vault with a height of 12-01.50.

Senior Davina Orieukwu placed fourth in the shot put with a distance of 48-10.25, while junior Betty Williams took eighth with her mark of 44-10.50.

In the weight throw, Juliana Smith posted a third place finish with a distance of 57-07.75, and Orieukwu finished next in line in fourth place with her mark of 57-03.50. Freshman Jazmin Miller followed in fifth place with a distance of 54-09.25, while Williams took seventh with a mark of 52-04.50.

On the men's side, freshman Mike Granger placed third in the 60 meters with a time of 6.78. In the 800 meters, Riley Young earned a third place finish with a time of 1:55.65, and Ty Gillespie place seventh with his time of 1:59.37.

Distance runner Martin Kirui turned in a seventh place showing in the 3000 meters with his time of 8:40.23. Senior Chad Berry recorded a time of 4:23.62 in the mile run on his way to a fourth place finish.

Sophomore Brian Knight won the high jump with an NCAA provisional height of 7-01.75, marking the second-best jump in school history. Knight also placed fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 49-03.50.

Caleb Lee captured the title in the long jump with a distance of 24-05.75, while Ras-Len Bully took fifth with a mark of 23-05.50. Lee went on to post a seventh place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 47-00.25.

Freshman Jason Anderson placed eighth in the pole vault with a height of 14-07.25.

Ole Miss returns to action Feb. 5 when the Rebels travel to South Bend, Ind., to take part in the Meyo Invitational.
