Rebels Win 10 Titles At Arkansas Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Ole Miss track and field team captured 10 individual titles and posted three NCAA provisional marks to highlight competiton Friday afternoon at the Arkansas Invitational.
Freshman Mike Granger won the individual title in the 60 meters witn an NCAA provisional time of 6.73. In addition, his mark tied for the third-fastest time in school history. Granger also placed third in the 200 meters with a time of 22.30.
In field events, sophomore Caleb Lee captured the long jump championship with a leap of 24-04.25, while fellow sophomore Brian Knight won both the high jump and triple jump. Knight earned an NCAA provisional mark in the high jump with a height of 7-00.25 and recorded the third-highest mark in school history. The Miami, Fla., native also won the triple jump with a distance of 48-08.25.
On the women's side, junior LaJada Baldwin finished in first place in the 60 meters with an NCAA provisional time of 7.38. Her mark was also the third-fastest in school history. She went on to place third in the 200 meters with a time of 24.19.
In the 1600 meter relay, the Rebel quartet of Jasmine Dacus, Sofie Persson, Kristin Bridges and Baldwin won the race with a time of 3:42.75.
Junior Rachel Jenkins won the long jump with a distance of 19-07.50 before placing third in the triple jump with a mark of 38-03.25. Sophomore Aria Gaines earned the title in the triple jump with a mark of 39-05.25, and senior Davina Orieukwu accomplished the feat in the shot put with a distance of 49-07.00.
Freshaman Jazmin Miller won the championship in the weight throw with a distance of 56-07.25.
Ole Miss returns to action Jan. 22-23 when the Rebels return to Fayetteville to take part in the Razorback Invitational.
