Rebel Duo Advances At Riviera ITA All-American

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Ole Miss women's tennis duo of Kristi Boxx and Abby Guthrie advanced to the third round of doubles at the Riviera ITA All-American Championships here Friday at the Riviera Country Club.
Boxx and Guthrie, ranked No. 10 nationally, staved off two match points to win a tiebreaker against the nation's No. 4 ranked team, Whitney Taney and Rika Tatsuno of Michigan. The duo improved to 7-1 on the year. In the quarterfinals, Boxx and Guthrie will face their second consecutive top-five team, Josipa Bek and Keri Wong of Clemson, ranked No. 5.
In singles, Boxx dropped her second round match to Maria Lesniak of SMU, 6-4, 6-1. Boxx is now 6-3 on the year.
