Ole Miss Cruises By Delta State In Preseason Exhibition

OXFORD, Miss. - Five Rebels scored in double figures as Ole Miss beat Delta State 86-52 in a preseason exhibition game Friday night.
Trevor Gaskins paced the Rebels in scoring with 17 points. Zach Graham added 15 points and Nick Williams had 13. Chris Warren contributed 11 points and seven assists, while Terrance Henry added 10 points and seven rebounds.
Gaskins finished 6-of-11 from the floor and made three of his six three-point attempts.
Williams, in his first action after transferring from Indiana and sitting out last season, scored all 13 of his points in the second half, in which he made all three of his tries from beyond the arc.
"We had two objectives tonight. One was to come away with no injuries, and the other was to get a lot of players minutes. I think we accomplished both objectives," said head coach Andy Kennedy, who enters his fifth season at the helm.
Ole Miss led the Statesmen by around 10 points for much of the first half before a run toward the end of the period gave the Rebels a 44-24 advantage at the break.
Utilizing the whole roster, more than half of which is made of players new to the team, Kennedy's group maintained a comfortable lead throughout the game.
Reginald Buckner added eight points, seven boards and four blocks. He set the all-time record for blocks in a season last year. Freshman Demarco Cox contributed six points and five rebounds.
