OXFORD, Miss. - The newest philanthropic giving fund for Ole Miss Athletics is experiencing success and growth since its launch in early September. To date, the 5-Star Fund has raised more than $100,000 in outright gifts and pledges for Ole Miss Athletics.

The UMAA Foundation has announced a new goal for the 5-Star Fund of $200,000 by the end of 2010. In order to reach this goal, we need the support of all Rebel fans.

"We are very grateful to our generous donors that have already stepped up and contributed to the 5-Star Fund," UMAA Foundation Executive Director Danny White said. "With that said, we are challenging the Ole Miss Family to take ownership in their athletics program. Now is the time to show your dedication, and get others to do the same."

The UMAA Foundation is emphasizing online giving with the 5-Star Fund. "We want to make it as convenient as possible for our fans to support the Rebels," added White.

When making an online gift, donors have the option of making a one-time gift, or choosing between monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly and semi-annual installments.

The 5-Star Fund is designed to engage all who bleed red and blue and allow them to take ownership in Rebel Athletics with an annual gift from $1-$4,999. Revenue generated from the 5-Star Fund will directly support the Ole Miss student-athlete experience, which is promised to all Rebel recruits and their parents. This unique experience consists of a variety of items ranging from facility enhancements to increased academic services.

Take advantage of the tax benefit and support your Rebels by making a gift to the 5-Star Fund by December 31, 2010. For more information on the 5-Star Fund, or to make an online gift, click here.

Every gift matters.
