2/10/2010 | Rifle
OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss rifle team will host an NCAA sectional qualifier at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13 at the Patricia C. Lamar National Guard Readiness Center.
The one-day match will feature the Rebels, UAB and Memphis shooting for a chance to advance to the NCAA Rifle Championships, which begin on March 12 in Fort Worth, Texas.
"We are excited about the NCAA sectional," said Ole Miss head coach Valerie Boothe. "It is always nice to shoot at home and the girls have really been practicing well."
Scores posted at the sectional qualifier will be averaged with the team's three best season scores and the top eight teams in the nation will advance to the NCAA Championships. The Rebels last advanced to the NCAA Championships in 2006.
