Rebels Sign Goss, White To Letters Of Intent

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss has signed two players to National Letters of Intent for the 2010 season, as Kellie Goss and Brenea White have both inked to play for the Rebels head coach Joe Getzin announced on Monday.

The duo make up the 2009 signing class and will be eligible to compete with the Rebels beginning with the 2010-11 academic year.

Goss comes to Ole Miss from Forest Park High School in Manassas, Va. A four-year letter-winner with Manassas, Goss was named a two-time District Player of the Year and earned All-Area Player of the Year honors. She also claimed second team All-State honors twice, as well as being named a two-time All-Met and All-Extra selection. She is also a four-time selection to the All-District team.

The middle blocker set the Virginia record for most blocks in a single season and helped lead her team to three district championships to go along with the 2007 regional championship and an appearance in the semi-finals of the state tournament.

In high school, she also letter one year in lacrosse, indoor track and soccer.

On the club level, Goss compete with Clash Volleyball club for four years, the NVNA club that advanced to Nationals in 2006, the USA Volleyball A2 team and the CHRVA High Performance team in 2006.

"I'm very excited about Kellie and the size and athleticism that she brings to the floor," Getzin said. "I feel she has a very high ceiling and can play several positions for us."

White joins the Rebels from Humble High School in Humble, Texas, where she earned four letters in volleyball and three in basketball with the Lady Wildcats. The 6-1 middle blocker claimed first team All-District honors in 2009 according to HometownSportsNews.net and second team All-District honors from the Houston Chronicle.

The middle blocker competed for two years with the Texas Thunder volleyball club, claiming most improved player honors in 2009.

White also picked up honors for her performance on the basketball court, claiming second team All-District honors in 2009 and honorable mention recognition in 2008.

"I'm looking forward to working with Brenea as she brings a very natural blocking ability to the game," Getzin said. "I feel that she is starting to reach potential playing in club and she will be a force to be reckoned with in the SEC for years to come."
