Granger, Persson Advance At NCAA Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Ole Miss runners Mike Granger and Sofie Persson advanced to the finals in their respective events Friday on the first day of the NCAA Indoor Championships from the Randal Tyson Track Center.
Granger finished in eighth place in the 60 meter preliminaries with a time of 6.66 to mark the third-fastest time in school history and earn a spot in the finals. He will compete in the finals Saturday at 7:15 p.m.
Persson turned in a time of 2:05.27 in the 800 meter preliminaries en route to a sixth place finish and a spot in the finals Saturday at 7:45 p.m.
Junior sprinter LaJada Baldwin finished in 14th place in the 400 meter preliminaries with a time of 54.30.
Ole Miss returns to action Saturday at 4:45 p.m. when both Ricky Robertson and Brian Knight take part in the high jump.
