Randolph Three Back At Schenkel E-Z-GO

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Ole Miss men's golf team shot a 290 in the second round of the Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational Saturday and dropped to fifth place heading into the final round at Forest Heights Country Club.
Junior Jonathan Randolph followed up Friday's opening-round 70 with a 3-under 69 and is just three back of the leader, Kevin Phelan (North Florida). Randolph has three top five finishes in three tournaments this spring, including winning the Gator Invitational.
Joe David is tied for 23rd with a 72-73-145, Pete Kellermann is tied for 30th at 71-75-146, and Billy Brozovich stands tied for 38th at 74-73-147.
"We didn't play the 18th hole well," head coach Ernest Ross said. "It may be that we are pressing hard, trying to make some things happen. We are a little frustrated now, but we will try to regroup with a positive attitude for Sunday. With a good final round we can accomplish a lot."
North Florida held onto first place, posting a second-round 279 to go along with its opening round 285. The Osprey stand at 12-under par (564) and lead second-place Auburn by seven strokes heading into the final round on Sunday. The Tigers shaved five strokes off Friday's opening round to climb two spots on the leaderboard to second place.
