Baldwin Shines On Day Three Of Alabama Relays

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Junior sprinter LaJada Baldwin won two individual titles and etched her name in the Ole Miss record books Saturday afternoon on the third day of the Alabama Relays.

Baldwin captured the individual title in the 100 meters with a time of 11.53, which tied her with former Ole Miss great Kim Mulkey for the third-fastest time in school history. The St. Louis, Mo., native also won the 200 meters with a time of 23.76.

Freshman Jasmine Williams placed fifth in the 100 meters following her time of 11.93. Fellow freshman Marci Morman took ninth in the 100 meter hurdles with a mark of 14.53.

Freshman Lauren Hollingsworth posted a fifth place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 55.94.

In the 400 meter hurdles, junior Sofie Persson claimed the individual title with a mark 58.33, while Jasmine Dacus followed in second place with her time of 1:00.26.

Distance runner Logan Waites turned in a second place showing in the 5000 meters with a time of 17:45.69.

In field events, junior Rachel Jenkins placed fourth in the long jump with a distance of 18-09.00, while Morman finished in eighth place with a mark of 18-02.50.

Sophomore Christiana Coleman posted an eighth place finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 159-01.00, which is the fifth-longest mark in school history.

Betty Williams finished second in the shot put with a distance of 51-01.50 to set the second-furthest mark in school history. Williams also placed third in the discus throw with a distance of 151-05.00. Davina Orieukwu finished in fifth place in the discus throw with a mark of 145-00.00 and took eighth in the shot put with a distance of 46-05.50.

Freshman Neal Tisher posted a second place finish in the pole vault with a height of 12-05.50, recording the second-highest mark in school history. Fellow freshman Brittney Bozeman placed third in the heptathlon with a total of 4574 points.

On the men's side, sprinter Jonathan Juin finished in fourth place in the 100 meters with a time of 10.57 and second place in the 200 meters with a mark of 21.39. Christopher Bush took 10th place in the 400 meters with his time of 49.30.

Junior Lee Ellis Moore captured the crown in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 50.00, while Carson Blanks took third overall with his time of 51.41.

Middle distance runner Chad Berry place 10th in the 1500 meters with a time of 3:58.86. In the 3000 meter steeplechase, Martin Kirui won the race with a time of 9:11.71 to set the fourth-fastest mark in school history.

Freshman Ricky Robertson placed fourth in the long jump with a distance of 23-00.50, while fellow freshman Morris Kersh followed in fifth place with a mark of 22-11.00.

Colin Moleton took second in the javelin throw with a distance of 205-02.00, while senior Bryce Willen was fifth with his mark of 197-08.00.

Jason Anderson finished in sixth place in the pole vault with a height of 14-01.25.

Ole Miss returns to action Sunday at 8 a.m. when the Rebels take part in the fourth and final day of the Alabama Relays.
