Rebel Netters Among Nation's Attendance Leaders

3/8/2010 | Men's Tennis

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's tennis team is among the nation's early leaders in the third annual ITA Attendance Race. The first standings reflect matches through January and February.

The Rebels are ranked fourth in overall attendance with 1,782 fans and second in average attendance at 446. This includes just four home matches to date. The team's Feb. 1 match against Indiana in the second round of the ITA National Team Indoor ranks fifth best with 735 fans watching the Rebels down the Hoosiers 4-0.

"We are excited to be among the national leaders in attendance for the third year in a row," head coach Billy Chadwick said. "Our success at home (72-3 since 2003) is a reflection of the huge following we have developed. We are looking forward to hosting two big SEC matches this weekend, and would like to encourage everyone to come out and help us stay near the top in attendance."

The Rebels (9-2, 1-1) look to continue their home dominance, as they host Arkansas Friday at 2 p.m., followed by LSU on Sunday at 1 p.m. Fans coming to the Arkansas match will enjoy free hot dogs.
