OXFORD, Miss. -- Junior Laura van de Stroet of the Ole Miss women's tennis team has been named the SEC Player of the Week the league office announced Wednesday.

Van de Stroet went 4-0 in singles and doubles last weekend to lead the Rebels to road wins over Auburn and Alabama. The wins clinched the team's first ever outright SEC West Championship and first SEC West title since 2005.

With the Rebels trailing 2-0 at Auburn, van de Stroet put them on the board with her straight set win at No. 5. She clinched the doubles point at Alabama and then won her singles match in straight sets to give Ole Miss a 2-0 lead.

The Waalre, Holland native owns a combined singles and doubles record of 29-4, 17-3 in the SEC. She has won seven of her last eight to help the Rebels win four straight SEC matches, including two top 15 wins. Van de Stroet has also teamed with Abby Guthrie to win 14 of their last 15 at No. 3 doubles with a 9-1 record in league play.

This marks the third conference weekly honor for the Rebels this season and second in a row. Connor Vogel was named Player of the Week on March 8, and Karen Nijssen earned it last week.

The Rebels conclude the regular season Saturday at Mississippi State with a chance to earn a first round bye in the SEC Tournament. The match begins at 11 a.m.
