OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss Rebel softball will hit the road again this week traveling to Birmingham to face Samford in a non-conference double header on Thursday before heading to Tuscaloosa for a three-game SEC series against No. 5 Alabama beginning on Saturday.

Ole Miss begins the road swing after dropping a series to No. 12 Georgia in Oxford last weekend. Junior Brittany Barnhill led the Rebels at the plate hitting two home runs on Sunday versus the Bulldogs and pacing the team with seven RBI on the week. Senior Lauren Grill broke DeDe Justice's career runs scored mark with her 125th career run on Saturday. She now owns the all-time hits, runs, walks and total bases records in Ole Miss history and is just five RBI away from that record.

The Rebels will travel to Birmingham on Thursday to face the Samford Bulldogs in a double header beginning at 5 p.m. The Bulldogs enter the contest with an 11-23 record and are 2-10 in the Southern Conference.

Sophomore Robyn Harmon leads the Bulldogs with a .358 batting average, while Alex Adams paces the club with six homers and 20 RBI. In the circle, Stephanie Royall has posted a team-high six wins with a 2.83 ERA and 23 strikeouts. The Rebels hold a 5-3 all-time record against Samford and have won the last three meetings.

After the non-conference double header on Thursday, the Rebels will travel over to Tuscaloosa for a three-game SEC sect with the No. 5 Alabama Crimson Tide. The two teams will play double header on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. and conclude the series Sunday at 1 p.m.
