Ole Miss Unveils Text Message Security System Saturday
4/15/2010 | Football
OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss Athletics is joining with In Stadium Solutions (ISS) to announce the implementation of a text-message based communication system that will be used at the Cellular South Grove Bowl Saturday at 1 p.m. Standard text message rates apply.
The text messaging system allows fans to communicate directly with the stadium's command post if assistance is needed in dealing with any special needs inside the stadium.
Fans who spot unruly behavior or other related incidents can report these and any customer service issues directly from their seats by texting "Rebs" followed by a space and a brief description of the incident and location in the stadium to 69050. Proper security and/or emergency personnel will then be dispatched to the area in question.
In Stadium Solutions has already marketed and established the text system at more than 60 NCAA universities, a dozen NFL teams and several other professional sports venues. The system has also been employed at marquee sporting events such as the BCS national championships and the Super Bowl.
