REBELS IN THE RANKINGS:
For the sixth straight season Ole Miss opened the year ranked in the preseason polls. Currently, the Rebels are ranked as high as 11th (Collegiate Baseball/Baseball America) and appear in the rankings of all of five of the major college baseball polls.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME:
The home field has been kind to the Rebels during Bianco's tenure as Ole Miss has posted a 249-89-1 record within the friendly confines of O-U Stadium/Swayze Field for a (.736 winning percentage) at home.

A LOOK AT TENNESSEE:
The Volunteers of Tennessee enter the weekend with a 13-13 record overall and are coming off mid-week wins over Tennessee Tech and Presbyterian College. The Vols were swept last weekend by LSU at home in conference play. As a team, Tennessee is batting .280 with 31 home runs and 172 RBI. P.J. Polk is the top hitter on the team, batting at a .354 clip with four home runs and 19 RBI on the year. On the mound, the Volunteers hold a team ERA of 4.85 and are led by Stephen McCray with a 1.98 ERA. Friday night starter Bryan Morgado is the ace of the staff, however, with a 4.42 ERA to go along with 42 strikeouts and 19 walks on the season. As a staff, UT has struck out 194 batters and walked 106 to date. Teams are batting .247 against the Vols.

REBELS VS. TENNESSEE:
Ole Miss leads the overall series with Tennessee 35-31-1 and picked up a win over Tennessee in the last meeting in the 2007 SEC Tournament. That season, the Rebels went 2-2 against the Volunteers. In his time at Ole Miss, head coach Mike Bianco has compiled a 14-9 record against the Volunteers with series sweeps at home in 2004 and 2006.

HIT STREAKS ON THE LINE:
Ole Miss has several players boasting hit streaks currently, but none longer than junior Matt Smith. Smith currently holds a season-long 10 game hitting streak. Also holding hit streaks are Tim Ferguson (5), Kevin Mort (3), Tanner Mathis (2), David Phillips (2) and Matt Tracy (2).

NEXT WEEK FOR THE REBELS:
Ole Miss will play a single mid-week game next week when the Rebels host Arkansas-Little Rock on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field. Ole Miss will then go back on the road for the fourth week of Southeastern Conference play, traveling to Athens to take on the Georgia Bulldogs in a three-game series over the weekend.
