Marcel Thiemann Named To SEC All-Tournament Team

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Ole Miss men's tennis sophomore Marcel Thiemann was named to the men's tennis SEC Championship All-Tournament Team as announced Sunday after the championship final.

Thiemann went 2-2 in singles and doubles, while two of his matches were suspended in helping lead the Rebels to the SEC Tournament Semifinals. He was instrumental in the Rebels downing Kentucky 4-0 to reach the semifinals for the eighth time in the last nine years. Thiemann, ranked No. 49 in the nation in singles, upset 13th-ranked Eric Quigley in straight sets at No. 1 singles, to give the Rebels a 3-0 lead after he teamed with his brother, Chris, to cinch the doubles point with a win at No. 1.

The Rebels (18-7) await the announcement of the 64-team bracket for the NCAA Championships and the regional host sites. Those will be will be revealed May 4 on ESPNews.
