Hey Rebel Fans!

This past weekend was a huge weekend here at Ole Miss. It was Double Decker, baseball played LSU and we hosted Auburn. Luckily the weather cooperated and we were able to get in both of our games on Saturday. Those two losses were tough on Saturday, because we were right there to take the win in both games. Sunday was a very important day, because we had to let go of Saturday's losses and come out and fight for a win. Sunday was also 'Kids Take Over the Park for LeBonheur Children's Hospital'. It was so much fun, there were kids everywhere! They ran out with us at the beginning of the game when we were announced and some of the boys helped the field crew get the field ready while different little girls took turns being our bat girls. We loved having them in the dugout with us, some of them even joined in cheering with us! Sunday's game was intense because the momentum between the two teams switched back and forth throughout the game. Amber had such a key hit when she hit a 3-run homerun to tie up the game. Then the first batter, the very next inning hit a single home run, so we knew we had to answer back, and with the help of Corrine and Grill, we made it 6-5!

After a great team win against Auburn, we had a clinic for all the kids. The kids were split up into groups and we worked on throwing and fielding with them. Alyssa McGovern was my partner and we had six girls in our group. We were so impressed on how well they fielded and threw the ball so we had them compete with one another in various games that involved throwing and fielding. At the end we took a group picture with all the kids and signed posters, t-shirts, gloves, balls, and jerseys. What made it so great was how many kids turned out!! And at the end of the day we were cleaning up in the team room and locker, putting our stuff away and there five large bins filled with toys for kids at LeBonheur! It was so exciting to see all those toys and how everyone participated and helped out because earlier in the year we visited LeBonheur and it was such an eye opening experience to tour the hospital and see some of the patients. And I just know that when these toys are delivered, it is going to put a smile on each and every one of the children's faces at LeBonheur.
