Rebel Track And Field Inks Max Holman

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss track and field head coach Joe Walker announced Tuesday that distance runner Max Holman has signed a national letter of intent to compete for the Rebels next season.
A native of Tupelo, Miss., by way of Tupelo High School, Holman was named the cross country Mississippi Gatorade Runner of the Year each of the last three years. He won the Mississippi Cross Country 6A individual title as a senior and claimed the 5A title his junior year in helping the Golden Wave win back-to-back team championships.
In track and field, Holman captured the Mississippi State 5A individual title in the 3200 meters the last two years and will be searching for a third straight victory later this year. He will also be looking to win the 1600 meters for the second consecutive year after claiming the Mississippi State 5A individual crown last year as a junior.
"We are excited about having Max join our team," Walker said. "He is one of the most outstanding distance runners ever to come through the state of Mississippi. He is an equally great person and student and we expect him to have a great career at Ole Miss."
Holman was also a 2009-10 Wendy's High School Heisman Award winner is a member of the National Honor Society at Tupelo High School. He was recently selected to the Barksdale Honors College upon arrival at Ole Miss.
