Ole Miss Softball Announces Summer Camps

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss softball team is taking applications for its 2010 summer camps. The Rebels will host a Skills Camp June 14-17 and a Kids Clinic June 16-17. The Skills Camp is for ages 12-18 and the Kids Clinic is for ages 8-11. Registration for both camps is available on-line by going to OleMissSports.com/Camps.
The Skill Camp will cover all aspects of the game, including mechanics, skills and drills. Pitching work includes drills, as well as going over grips, stance, motion, pitches and understanding pitching vs. throwing. Campers will also cover station work, the fundamentals of hitting and bunting vs. slapping. The cost of the four-day camp is $315. Groups and teams or eight or more should contact assistant coach Staci Ramsey for special offers.
The Kids Clinic will cover similar aspects as the Skills Camp, but will be geared to a younger player. The clinic is for athletes aged 8-11 and the cost is $200. Special offers are available for groups of eight or more. Both camps will take place at the Ole Miss Softball Complex, which features an indoor hitting facility and an air-conditioned locker room.
