Grill Named First Team All-Region By NFCA

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss senior Lauren Grill was selected Louisville Slugger first team All-South Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, it was announced on Thursday. Grill is now eligible for All-America honors which will be announced June 2 at Women's College World Series.
A 2008 first-team All-America pick by Louisville Slugger, Grill led the Rebels with a .443 batting average, eight home runs, 39 RBI and a .705 slugging percentage in 2010. Her .569 on-base percentage this season is the fifth-best mark in SEC history, while her 44 career homers are tied for sixth best in league history.
Grill is the third player in Ole Miss history to receive all-region honors, joining Mary Jane Callahan and DeDe Justice, and is the only player in school history to be named to the first team twice in her career.
The Tualatin, Ore., native literally rewrote the Ole Miss record book during her four seasons as a Rebel. Grill owns career records in hits, runs, RBI, walks and total bases, and is the Ole Miss career leader in batting average, on-base and slugging percentage. She also ranks second in doubles, triples and home runs. In addition, she holds single-season Ole Miss marks for hits, runs, walks, total bases, batting average, slugging and on-base percentage.
