Hashman Named To SEC All-Tournament Team

5/30/2010 | Baseball

OXFORD, Miss. - Senior outfielder Taylor Hashman was named to the All-Tournament team for his performance at the 2010 Southeastern Conference Tournament, the league office announced on Sunday following the conclusion of the annual event.

Selection to the All-Tournament team is based on voting by media members in attendance at the event.

Hashman hit .357 for the weekend, leading the team in batting average and posted a team-leading four RBI with teammate Miles Hamblin as he helped push the Rebels to the semifinals of the Tournament for the fifth time in the last six seasons.

None of his hits was bigger than a three-run home run against Auburn in the 10th inning on Friday night that propelled the Rebels to a 10-7 win over the second-seeded Tigers in an elimination game that set up a match-up with eventual tournament champion LSU in the semifinals on Saturday.

The Rebels defeated No. 7 South Carolina and No. 13 Auburn on the way to a 2-2 performance at the tournament. Ole Miss will now await the announcement of the NCAA Tournament field on Monday at 11:30 a.m. CDT when the Rebels will find out where they will be traveling for the NCAA Tournament.

The Rebels have advanced to the NCAA Tournament seven straight seasons heading into the announcement of the most recent tournament field on Monday and have advanced to Super Regional play four of the past five seasons.
