OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss women's basketball assistant coach Marlene Stollings has accepted an invitation to participate in the Nike Villa 7 Coaching Consortium, which will be held on the Nike campus in Beaverton, Ore., May 13-14.

Villa 7 is a partnership between the Center for Sport Leadership at Virginia Commonwealth University and Nike to bring together university athletic directors and the country's elite assistant basketball coaches in an effort to prepare the next generation of college basketball leaders.

"I feel privileged to be part of this prestigious event for aspiring head coaches," Stollings said. "I am truly excited about having the opportunity to network with top-notch administrators from various parts of the country as well as enhance my knowledge on becoming a head coach."

Chairman of USA basketball's Board of Visitors Jerry Calangelo is the featured speaker, while Virginia Hall of Fame Coach Debbie Ryan is part of the Head Coaches Panel, which includes fellow women's basketball head coach Brian Giorgis (Marist) and men's basketball head coach Jim Boeheim (Syracuse).

"I feel honored to be included as a panelist at the Villa 7 Coaches Consortium," Ryan said. "Assistant coaches get hands-on experience in navigating the landscape toward becoming head coaches while networking with some of the top administrators in athletics today."
