Several Rebel Golfers Competing In Southern Am

LOOKOUT MTN, Ga. - Several members of the Ole Miss women's golf team are competing in the 95th Southern Amateur Championship this week at the Lookout Golf Club.
Upcoming junior Ashley Lance (Frankling, Tenn.) and redshirt freshman Kathryn Fowler Americus, Ga.) qualified for the championship flight, and Lance tied for medalist honors with two other players. Ole Miss, who supplied the most college entrants, won the team trophy with Lance and Fowler shooting 72 and 74 respectively in the qualifying round on Monday.
Lance won her opening round match Tuesday, defeating Alex Rankin of Anderson, S.C., 1 up. She will face Haley Cothran in the round of 16 Wednesday at 8:32 a.m. Fowler lost her first round match to Eleana Collins of Pinehurst, N.C., 5 and 4.
Other Rebels competing in the Southern Amateur include Alyssa Randolph and Jillian Brodd (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Shelby Sain (Bolivar, Tenn.).
