Ashley Lance To Play For Southern Am Title

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Ashley Lance, a rising junior on the Ole Miss women's golf team, will play for the Southern Amateur Championship Friday, after winning twice on Thursday to advance to the final here at Lookout Golf Club.
In a battle of two SEC players, Lance, a native of Franklin, Tenn., rallied to defeat upcoming Alabama junior Brooke Pancake (Chattanooga, Tenn.) in the morning quarterfinal match. Down four to Pancake, Lance made four birdies to tie and then birdied the 19th hole to defeat the two-time All-SEC second team honoree.
In the afternoon, Lance beat co-medalist Carolyn Creekmore, the 2004 Senior Women's Amateur Champion, 3 and 2.
Two SEC players will go head-to-head for the trophy Friday, as Lance faces Arkansas' Corinna Rees, a rising senior, in the 36-hole final beginning at 7 a.m. CT.
