Moore, Persson Named To Academic All-District Team

A native of Cordova, Tenn., with a 4.00 GPA in biological science, Moore has served as one of the best 400 meter hurdlers in the country. Moore won four individual titles this year and currently ranks fourth in the nation in his event.
Moore opened the year by winning the 400 meter hurdles at the Rhodes Invitational before also claiming the event at the Alabama Relays in the following meet.
He went on to capture the individual title in the 400 meter hurdles at the Ole Miss Invite by setting a school record with a time of 49.52. Moore also etched his name in the Ole Miss history books when he became the first Rebel in school history to win the 400 meter hurdles at the prestigious Drake Relays when he turned in a time of 50.23.
Persson holds a 3.84 GPA in marketing and currently ranks 23rd in the NCAA in the 400 meter hurdles with her top time of 58.07 she turned in at the SEC Outdoor Championships en route to a third place finish.
She also won individual titles in the 400 meter hurdles at the Alabama Relays and the Ole Miss Invitational, while posting a fifth place finish at the Drake Relays.
Persson also runs the final leg for the 4x400 meter relay team that will compete next week at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.
The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District and All-America teams are voted on by CoSIDA members across the country and are divided into districts. Student athletes who are selected to the All-District first team are eligible for the national ballot.
