Jack O'Keefe Named Men's Golf Assistant Coach

Jack O'Keefe, a native of Arkansas, has been named the new assistant golf coach at Ole Miss, head coach Ernest Ross announced Thursday.
O'Keefe, one of Arkansas' top amateur golfers in the 1980's and 1990's, comes to Ole Miss after serving the previous four years at Central Arkansas.
"We're very excited to have Jack O'Keefe become part of the Ole Miss golf program," Ross said. "He brings great credentials to the job with TOUR experience and teaching ability. He did an outstanding job while at Central Arkansas. I know our players will really like him."
While at Central Arkansas, O'Keefe helped the Bears improve from 139 to 63 in the Golfstat rankings in two years. During his four years, the Bears had nine All-Southland Conference selections, seven team titles and six individual medalists.
Prior to his stint at UCA, O'Keefe served as the head professional at Hot Springs Country Club for three years.
An accomplished player, O'Keefe was a four-time All-American at the University of Arkansas and won three collegiate tournaments individually. He was also the Arkansas State Golf Association Player of the Year from 1990-92 and was the ASGA Junior Player of the Year in 1987.
O'Keefe played professionally for 10 years. His highlights include earning his PGA Tour Card for the 1997 season and finishing 175th on the PGA Tour Money List. O'Keefe played on the Nike Tour in 1996 and finished 15th on the Nike Tour Money List. He also competed in the 1996 U.S. Open at Oakland Hills. O'Keefe was the Player of the Year on the NGA Hooters Tour in 1995 with two of his three victories coming in 1995.
O'Keefe and his wife Susan have four children: Lucy, John Freeman, Henry and Hogan.
