OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss opened the second week of preseason football drills Sunday with a light walk-thru in the Indoor Practice Facility.
Coming off their first scrimmage of the preseason, the Rebels began the day by attending church as a team, and in the evening, the squad met for an hour-long, non-contact workout in helmets, shirts and shorts.
"We made our corrections from the film, got the soreness out and had to get ready for a very physical week ahead," said Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt.
Nutt was pleased with his team's effort in Saturday's scrimmage, which drew 4,000 fans to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, but he noted "we just have to keep improving."
Nutt said fundamentals will be a priority as the team puts the pads back on Monday for week two of preseason.
"We have to sure up our alignments and assignments, get the lost-yardage plays corrected, and get better at missed tackles," Nutt said.
Ole Miss practices are closed to the public with the exception of Saturday for "Meet The Rebels Day" festivities. The event begins at noon with fan activities in the IPF and concludes with an open scrimmage at 6 p.m. in the stadium.
