Rebel Volleyball To Host Scrimmage Saturday Morning

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss volleyball team will scrimmage on Saturday morning at 10 a.m on campus at the University of Mississippi.
Fans are invited to come check out the 2010 edition of the Rebel volleyball team in action before making their way over to the Indoor Practice Facility for Meet the Rebels Day festivities.
"As you're coming out to Meet the Rebels, come on out a little earlier and check out the first glimpse of Ole Miss volleyball in action before we open our season," said Ole Miss head coach Joe Getzin.
"You can also get a live glimpse of the Getzin goatee and see why you want to vote for me in our `Go For The Goat' promotion between myself and soccer coach Matt Mott."
Following the volleyball scrimmage, the squad will be on hand at the IPF as part of Meet the Rebels Day to sign autographs and interact with fans beginning at 2 p.m.
The Rebels open the 2010 season on the road at a weekend tournament hosted by Rice University on Friday, Aug. 27. Ole Miss will face UT-San Antonio at 4:30 p.m. in the season opener before playing Texas Tech and Rice on the second day of action.
Fans can vote in the "Go For The Goat" promotion at www.GoForTheGoat.com. The losing coach in the promotion will have his goatee shaved at halftime of one of the other program's matches.
