Rebels Place 35 On SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll

OXFORD, Miss. - The University of Mississippi placed 35 student-athletes on the 2010 Southeastern Conference Freshman Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced on Monday.
The 35 athletes represented 12 spots with women's track leading the way with six athletes. Football and volleyball both placed five athletes each on the list honoring freshman academic performance.
All-told, 547 freshman student athletes were named to the 2010 SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll across the league. To be named to the honor roll, each student-athlete must 1) have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship or a letter winner; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of a varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
The 2010 SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll is based on grades for the 2009-10 academic calendar.
