Ole Miss To Host Fall Softball Clinic Before Exhibition

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss Rebel softball squad will host a pair of clinics on Sept. 12 before the team faces off against the National Pro Fastpitch League's USSSA Pride in an exhibition game at 4 p.m. at the Ole Miss Softball Complex.
The Sunday will start with the "Lil' Rebels FUNdamental Clinic" at 9:30 a.m. The camp is geared to children aged 12 and under and will cover the fundamental skills of hitting, pitching and fielding. The cost of the clinic is $50 and individuals can register on-line or contact assistant coach Megan Matthews at meganm@olemiss.edu for more information.
A second skills clinic will be held for ages 13-18 beginning at 10 a.m. The "Back-to-Basics Clinic" will feature instruction from the Ole Miss coaching staff on the essentials of hitting and pitching. The cost of the clinic is $80 and individuals can register on-line or contact assistant coach Megan Matthews at meganm@olemiss.edu for more information.
Both clinics will conclude at 1 p.m. with a meet-and-greet lunch with the Ole Miss softball team. Following the lunch, the Rebels will face off against the USSSA Pride in an exhibition game. Admission to the contest is $5. A member of the NPF pro softball league, the Pride count former collegiate stars Tonya Callahan, Kelly Kretschman, Jessica Mendoza and Cat Osterman among its players.
