OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss senior golfer Jonathan Randolph has been named one of the top 10 "Players to Watch" for the 2010-11 season, while the Rebels received votes in the GolfWorld Preseason Coaches Poll, announced Wednesday.

The Rebels, who received 16 votes in the preseason poll, return all five players from last year's lineup. The team finished second at the SEC Championships last year and earned its fourth consecutive NCAA Regional appearance.

"It's certainly nice to be considered for the Top 25, now we have to go out and prove that we belong in the Top 25," head coach Ernest Ross said. "We're looking forward to the start of our season next week."

Randolph is coming off an outstanding year in which he became the ninth All-American in the history of the program and achieved numerous highlights. The Brandon, Miss., native posted three wins, eight top-five and nine top-10 finishes in 12 tournaments. He was a first-team All-Southeastern Conference selection and ended the year ranked No. 6 nationally in Golfweek.

This summer Randolph finished second at the Mississippi State Amateur and went 3-1-0 on the winning United States Palmer Cup team.

"We're proud of Jonathan for being named as one of the players to watch. He's certainly deserving of this recognition," Ross said. "He's worked really hard, traveled a lot this summer and expects to be one of the top players in America."

Ole Miss begins the 2010-11 season Sept. 10-12 at the Carpet Capital Collegiate in Dalton, Ga.
