SERIES INFORMATION

Today's meeting was the 70th meeting between the Rebels and the Green Wave. Ole Miss leads the series 42-28 and has won 10 straight games against Tulane dating back to 1989.
Tulane is the Rebels' fourth-most played opponent behind Mississippi State (106), LSU (98) and Vanderbilt (84).
The Ole Miss-Tulane series is the Rebels' longest ongoing series dating back to the school's first year playing football in 1893. The Rebels won the first meeting 12-4 in New Orleans to cap a 4-1 season and have played 68 times since. The two schools played almost yearly from 1893 to 1910 missing only four years (1897, 1903, 1905 and 1907) and started a yearly series in 1950 that ran until 1965.

GENERAL NOTES

Ole Miss is now 48-12 versus non-conference opponents dating back to a 38-0 win over Tulane on Nov. 12, 1994. The Rebels are also 17-6 in their last 23 road or neutral site non-conference games dating back to that game against the Green Wave.
This was head coach Houston Nutt's first career game and first career game against Tulane.

OFFENSIVE NOTES

Jeremiah Masoli scored his first touchdown as a Rebel on a one-yard quarterback sneak on fourth down in the first quarter that gave Ole Miss a 7-0.
Masoli's first touchdown pass came on a 70-yard strike to Markeith Summers with 1:19 to go in the first half. It was the longest touchdown pass for a Rebel since Jevan Snead's 72-yard pass to Mike Wallace against Mississippi State in 2008.
Senior wide receiver Markeith Summers recorded his first career 100-yard game after turning in five catches for 165 yards including the 70-strike from Masoli. Summers' 165 yards receiving is the seventh highest single-game total in Ole Miss history and the most since Shay Hodge recorded 169 yards receiving against Northern Arizona in 2009.

DEFENSIVE NOTES

Senior defensive end Kentrell Lockett posted his first quarterback sack of the season and the ninth of his career, which is the most among active players.
Sophomore defensive end Jason Jones recovered a fumble on the Ole Miss 10-yard line in the third quarter to end a Tulane drive. It was the first fumble recovery of Jones' career.
Freshman cornerback Charles Sawyer posted a team-high and career-best ten tackles including seven solo.
Senior linebacker Jonathan Cornell posted a career-high 3.0 QB sacks, which is the most sacks since Greg Hardy posted 3.0 sacks against Mississippi State in 2008.

SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES

Sophomore Bryson Rose connected on a career long 41-yard field goal with 2:24 remaining in the second quarter. He also connected on a 29-yard attempt in the fourth quarter and was 3-for-3 on PAT attempts.
Sophomore punter Tyler Campbell finished the game with four punts for a 46.0-yard average including a 60-yard punt, his longest boot of the season.
