OXFORD, Miss. - Junior libero Morgan Springer was named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

Springer turned in a pair of stellar defensive performances for the Rebels over the weekend, notching more than 20 digs per match and helping lead Ole Miss to a weekend sweep in conference play. The Rebels defeated Alabama 3-0 on Friday night and downed Mississippi State 3-1 on Sunday to close out the weekend.

Against Alabama, Springer posted a match-high 26 digs to lead the Rebels to the shutout win over the Crimson Tide. She then followed that up with 21 digs against Mississippi State on Sunday to help push Ole Miss to the 3-1 victory over the Bulldogs.
