Boxx Advances To Round Of 16 At ITA All-American

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Ole Miss senior Kristi Boxx advanced to the round of 16 singles at the ITA All-American Championships Thursday with a straight set win at the Riviera Country Club.
Boxx, ranked No. 22 in the nation, defeated 53rd-ranked Kate Turvy of Northwestern 6-4, 6-4. She will face the No. 2 seed, Allie Will of Florida, in the second round Friday. Ironically, Turvy put out Boxx' teammate, Caroline Rohde-Moe, in the second round of qualifying.
In first round doubles, Boxx and fellow senior Abby Guthrie lost to the Georgia team of Nadja Gilchrist and Chelsey Gullickson 8-2.
