OXFORD, Miss. - With the campaign's first reward deadline just two days away, the UMAA Foundation is excited to announce a second consecutive $5 million week, bringing Ole Miss' Forward Together campaign to the $30 million mark.
"Donors continue to take advantage of the October 7 early reward deadline and we look forward to how high the number will rise in the next two days," says Danny White, Executive Director of the UMAA Foundation. "CGAs continue to pour in, and our dedicated campaign account is growing every day. We're extremely grateful to all those who are choosing to support the campaign through the CGA program."
Similar to a Personal Seat License (PSL), commonly found in professional leagues, the Capital Gift Agreement (CGA) provides donors some ownership over their seats. With benefits like transfer rights and donation guarantees for 10 years, CGA holders acquire rights that are not common in college athletics.
While CGAs have been the most significant portion of revenue to date, the UMAA Foundation has made significant inroads with companies interested in naming opportunities in and around the proposed new facilities.
"We have had some great conversations with companies looking for a chance to support this campaign and establish a presence on our campus," White said. "These companies realize this is a unique opportunity to provide philanthropic support to a high profile campaign and receive prominent recognition in return."
Naming opportunities are not limited to companies. Those individuals interested in naming are encouraged to contact the UMAA Foundation and set up a meeting with a member of the major gifts staff.
"This early deadline is just the first step in our commitment to building a basketball arena that will be on par with any arena in the country," said Rebel head men's basketball coach Andy Kennedy. "To pass $30 million this quickly speaks volumes to the undeniable passion, generosity and loyalty of our Ole Miss family, and I look forward to following the campaign's progress as we move toward the January deadline."
Although the early reward deadline ends October 7, the final deadline to commit to seats in a CGA section is January 6, 2012.
