Brozovich Leads Rebels In Final Round of Brickyard Collegiate

MACON, Ga. - Billy Brozovich shot an even -par 72 in the final round of the Brickyard Collegiate Championship, as the No. 24 Ole Miss Rebels finished the tournament in 10th place overall.
No. 21 Georgia Tech held a commanding lead for most of the tournament and took the top spot. The Yellow Jackets finished 17 strokes ahead of second place No. 17 Florida State.
The third round saw the Rebels card their best score of the tournament--a 296--but they could not move up from the tenth spot that they held at the conclusion of Saturday's action.
Senior Joe David shot a 74 Sunday to earn his 21st career top-20 finish. The Madison, Tenn. native finished at 2-over for the tournament--good for a tie for 14th place.
Freshman Joe Lewis matched David's 74 in the final round after leading Ole Miss with a 73 Saturday.
"We didn't have a good week putting," said head coach Ernest Ross. "We tried to make a run, but had a bad stretch of holes. We still need to improve--and quickly."
The Rebels return to action Oct. 17-18 when they travel to Shreveport, La. for the David Toms Intercollegiate hosted by Louisiana State University.
