JACKSON, Miss. - Ole Miss' Brandon Bolden has been named among the recipients of the Most Valuable Senior Awards, presented by the Jackson Touchdown Club and C Spire Wireless. The organization will hold its final meeting for this season on Monday at 6 p.m. at the River Hills Tennis Club located at the intersection of Ridgewood Road and Lakeland Drive in Jackson.
A running back from Baton Rouge, La., Bolden ranks second in school history in rushing and total touchdowns and third in all-purpose yards. The preseason All-SEC pick boasts five total TDs and two 100-yard all-purpose games this season despite battling injury.
The Jackson Touchdown Club honors players chosen by the coaching staffs of all 10 Mississippi senior colleges. Other award winners include Isaac Williams, Alcorn State; Ricky Wadlington, Belhaven; Casey Therriault, Jackson State; Will Derrick, Millsaps; Tommy Reyer, Mississippi College; Charles Mitchell, Mississippi State; Austin Davis, Southern Miss and players yet to be named from Delta State and Mississippi Valley State.
The Jackson Touchdown Club has presented this awards program each year since 1946, the year the organization was founded by the late Dr. Lacey Hughes, a Jackson native who gathered 15 football fans together to celebrate the sport of football.
Celebrating its 66th Anniversary, the Jackson Touchdown Club Most Valuable Senior Award is one of the oldest and most prestigious honors presented by a quarterback or touchdown club in the Southeast.
The admission fee for non-members and guests for this meeting is $30. Space is limited at Club meetings. The media is cordially invited to all meetings at no cost.
