Diamond Rebs To Be Televised Nine Times In 2011

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss Baseball team will be featured on television nine times in the 2011 season, including a pair of Thursday night games that are a part of the Southeastern Conference's contract with ESPN, the league office announced on Friday.
The Rebels will make their first television appearance of the year in the opening weekend of SEC play when Ole Miss hosts Alabama in a three-game series the weekend of March 18-20. Saturday's (March 19) contest will now begin at 2 p.m. It is the first of six home contests to be televised for the Rebels.
The Rebels other televised contests include: Georgia (April 9 - 2 p.m.), South Carolina (May 7 - 2 p.m.) and all three games of the series against Mississippi State (May 12-14 - 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 7 p.m.)
Also included in the slate are two of the three games at Auburn, including Thursday's series opening game (April 21 - 6:30 p.m.; April 23 - Noon). The annual Governor's Cup game at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Miss., will also be televised (April 19 - 6:30 p.m.).
The television package is derived from broadcasts on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, FSN, SportSouth, CSS and CST. In addition, ESPN3 will also stream most broadcasts live online. All games shown on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU will be broadcast in high-definition.
The regular-season package will include 54 broadcasts in 2011, up from 46 games in 2010. In addition, all games from the 2011 SEC Tournament will continue to be televised, with the championship game airing again nationally on ESPN2. Including SEC Tournament games, a total of 68 SEC baseball broadcasts will air in 2011 as part of the official SEC package.
Ole Miss will announce its 2011 webcast schedule for OleMissSports.com's RebelVision next week. Ole Miss opens the 2011 season on Friday, February 18, at 3 p.m. when the Rebels host Wright State in the first game of a three-game series at O-U Stadium/Swayze Field.
