THIS WEEK FOR OLE MISS:
Ole Miss takes to the road for the first time this weekend when the Rebels will face the Houston Cougars at Cougar Field for a three-game series. The first game of the series is at 6:30 p.m., with a Saturday first pitch set for 7 p.m. The series will conclude at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

NEXT WEEK FOR THE REBELS:
Ole Miss returns home to kick off a 15-game home stand with a pair of mid-week games against Austin Peay at O-U Stadium/Swayze Field. Both games will start at 6:30 p.m. The Rebels will then host the Tulane Green Wave in a three-game series over the weekend with start times of 6:30, noon and 1:30 p.m. to accomodate the men's basketball game against Arkansas on Saturday.

PROBABLE PITCHING MATCH-UPS:
FRIDAY, 6:30 P.M.
UH - Codey Morehouse, Sr., RHP
OM - Matt Crouse, Jr., LHP
NOTING CROUSE: Junior Matt Crouse makes his second start on a Friday night when he takes the mound against the Houston Cougars. Crouse is coming off a solid first outing after picking up the win over Wright State last weekend. In that game, Crouse worked 6.0 innings to tie a career-high in innings pitched. The southpaw allowed only two earned runs without a walk and struck out three batters to give the Rebels a season-opening victory.

SATURDAY, 7:00 P.M.

OM - David Goforth, Jr., RHP
NOTING GOFORTH: Goforth enters Saturday's contest after taking no decision in his frist appearance of the year, despite working a career-long 7.0 innings against the Wright State Raiders. He held the Raiders scoreless in the outing and allowed only one walk with five strikeouts while limiting Wright State to five hits on the afternoon. The right-hander took no decision as the Rebels gave up four runs in the top of the eighth, allowing the Raiders to tie the game before Ole Miss claimed a win in extra-innings.

SUNDAY, 1:00 P.M.

OM - Austin Wright, Jr., LHP
NOTING WRIGHT: Wright will make his second start for the Rebels this weekend when he takes the mound against the Cougars on Sunday. Wright also turned in a solid outing for the Rebels in his debut last weekend, working 5.0 innings and holding Wright State to one run on six hits with two walks and five strikeouts. The big southpaw earned All-Conference honors at Chipola Community College before transferring to Ole Miss this year where he earned a spot in the starting rotation out of the gates.

A LOOK AT HOUSTON:
The Cougars of Houston enter the weekend with an overall record of 4-0 and are off the the best start for the program since the 1993 season. Under the direction of first year head coach Todd Whitting, the Cougars have swept UT-Arlington in the first weekend of play and picked up a midweek win over Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday night. John Cannon leads Houston at the plate with a .545 average, while Austin Gracey is hitting .529 with two home runs and eight RBI. The Cougar pitching staff holds a 2.25 ERA as a team and this weekend's announced starter have combined to allow one run in 14.0 innings of work. Opponents are hitting .252 against the Cougars this season and have scored 12 runs through the first four games.


OLE MISS VS. HOUSTON:
Ole Mss and Houston have faced off twice before in the history of the two schools with the Rebels holding a 2-0 lead over the Cougars. The two squads first met in 1992 with the Rebels claiming a 12-3 win at Houston. Ole Miss faced off against the Cougars again in 1993 and picked up the second win in the series, downing Houston 6-2 at the Louisiana Classic in Lafayette, La.

HIT STREAKS ON THE LINE:
Tanner Mathis and Alex Yarbrough enter the weekend holding the two longest hit streaks on the squad. Mathis has hit safely in eight straight games dating back to the final three games of the 2010 season, while Yarbrough has notched a hit in six consecutive games dating back to the final game of the 2010 season. Freshman Preston Overbey has also hit safely in every game this season, holding a five game hit streak while junior Matt Snyder has hit safely in four straight games.
