Softball Drops Two On Second Day Of Home Tournament

OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss fell in both of its games Saturday at the Red and Blue Classic, falling to South Alabama 10-2 and Western Kentucky 9-3.
Game One
Meghan Collins put South Alabama up 2-0 in the top of the second with a two-run home run to left field.
With two on and two outs, Erinn Jayjohn hit a single up the middle to score Overbeck in the bottom of the second. Corrine Doornberg singled to score Natalie Nimmo as the Rebels cut the Jaguars lead to 3-2.
South Alabama added a run in the top of the fifth as Kendall Bruning walked in a run. The Jaguars added three runs in the sixth to increase its lead to 7-2.
Brittany Folwer hit a three-run home run off Lindsey Perry to increase South Alabama's lead to 10-2 in the top of the seventh.
Game Two
Ole Miss took an early 1-0 lead in the second as Erinn Jayjohn singled to score Brittany Broome from second. The Rebels stranded three runners in the third.
Western Kentucky threatened in the fourth as they recorded two runners after Perry struck out the Lady Toppers to end the inning.
The Rebels retook the lead, 2-1, in the fourth as RT Cantillo hit a sacrifice fly to score Broome. Western Kentucky went up 6-2 in the fifth as Amanda Thomas hit a three run homer to centerfield.
The Lady Toppers increased their lead to 9-3 in the ninth.
Ole Miss will play SEMO tomorrow at 1 p.m.
